It's the story of three Catholic priests and what happens when a young housekeeper is hired for them. I will say that she does try to do a lot of good, but all throughout her journey to try to become President of the US she never really seems ro reflect on any of this..... [ and even the way she finally did become president didn't feel right, like just randomly kill of the previous president so that she can gain power, that just seems almost disrespectful to the amount of work she had to do to get there, I would've much preferred it if she was actually voted into presidency, not just accidentally made president because the other guy died of a heart attack. One thing I also loved was how the love story in the book did not take up a major amount of the reader's time, and rather was put in to help push the plot forward and added to the realness of the main character. Mr Archer's love for politics makes for an interesting window into that world and yet again, as in the case of Kane and Abel, I did not connect with the characters. The Prodigal Daughter is truly a wonderful book. This book was interesting - its nothing like Kane and Abel even thought for the first half of the book or so it covers the same story, although now also from Florentyna's perspective. So, I managed to pick up The Prodigal Daughter, the sequel of Kane and Abel, a couple of days back after reading half way through last time. This time around I could almost sense the writer trying to undo the mistakes and fill the gaps left in Abel's life, but unfortunately Abel's daughter suffers the same dreadful lacklustre empty existance. Her drive at times was even motivating and her struggles, especially those during her highschool & college years, were much more relateable to me than anything that ever happened between Kane and Abel.
